William McKinley Morton

William McKinley "Peterman" Morton, 76, of Culpeper, VA, passed November 12, 2023.  He was born on February 6, 1947.

William is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Morton of Culpeper, VA; six sons: John (Dominque) Morton of Culpeper, VA, Eric Morton of Culpeper, VA, Durane J. Morton of Austin, TX, Clayton Smith of Norfolk, VA, Christopher Smith of Bethesda, MD, and Kent Hicks of Franklin, TN; two sisters: Alma Cropp of Jeffersonton, VA, and Geraldine Coleman of Culpeper, VA; one brother, Samuel Morton of Frankfurt, Germany; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 12 pm, at Rising Zion Baptist Church, 18168 Springs Road, Jeffersonton,VA 22724.  Rev. Jerome Gipson will deliver the eulogy.
