William Leroy Carter, Sr.

William Leroy Carter, Sr., 91, of Warrenton, VA, passed June 28, 2026, at his residence.  He was born on January 26, 1935.   

William was a US Army veteran and attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Warrenton, VA.

William is survived by his wife, Helena Carter of Warrenton, VA; two daughters: Etta Terry Thompson of Springfield, VA and Carla D. Carter of Warrenton, VA; one son, William L. "Skip" Carter, Jr. of Warrenton, VA; one brother, Walter (Enice) Carter of Conway, SC; and one sister, Beverly (Butch) Carter of Conway, SC; five grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Kathleen and a sister, Juanita Carter.
  
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 12 pm until 1 pm with funeral services starting at 1 pm at Faith Christian Church, 6472 Duhollow Road, Warrenton, VA, 20187.  Pastor Keith McCullough will deliver the eulogy.
  
Interment will be in Warrenton Cemetery, Warrenton, VA.
