Wilbur Conway (Billy) Thompson, III

Wilbur Conway "Billy" Thompson, III, 64, of Culpeper, VA, passed April 3, 2023 after a long illness.  He was born on December 14, 1958.

Billy was a 1977 graduate of Culpeper County High School.  Wanting to continue his education, he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Virginia State University and an AA Degree in Mortuary Science from Gupton Jones College.  He worked for many years at Dulles International Airport.  He also worked as a funeral director for many years with his father, WC Thompson, Jr., at the WC Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper, VA.  
 
Wilbur is survived by a sister, Dr. Deborah L. Thompson; a number of cousins; and many friends.
 
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, 12:00 pm, at Fairview Cemetery, 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, 22701.  Rev. Dr. Melvin E. Jones will officiate.
