Soanya Gross-Parks, age 53, of Manassas, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at home with her loving sister Ms. Theresa M. Gross.

Soanya Gross-Parks was born in Washington, DC on March 1, 1970.  She was the first-born child of Gregory J. and Barbara Gross.  During her life time Soanya attended schools in Warren and Fauquier Counties, in Viriginia and Bladensburg, MD. She went on to complete her education in Job Corp. Soanya worked several jobs with her career achievement being a Front-End Manager at Giant Food store in Alexandria, VA until her health declined. In her lifetime, Soanya lived in California, Arizona, Maryland, and Virginia.

Soanya married her one and true love Eric J. Parks on October 12, 1991. Over the years, they were inseparable from each other’s hearts and often enjoyed their favorite past times of going out to eat or just spending time together watching TV/movies on the couch. They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in 2023. 

Soanya accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was most recently a member at One Word Community Church in Woodbridge, VA under the leadership of Senior Pastors Johnny and Carolyn Clements. She enjoyed the lively and Biblically-focused weekly services that she would often attend with her husband Eric. 

Soanya Gross-Parks was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Green, step-father Wilbert Green, maternal grandparents, James and Mildred Washington, paternal grandparents John A. and Dorothy Theresa Gross, and her beloved aunt, Brenda L. Baltimore.

She is survived by her husband, Eric J. Parks of Alexandria, VA; her father, Gregory J. Gross, Sr. (Saundra) of Orlando, FL; sister: Theresa M. Gross of Manassas, Samatha K. Campbell (Joseph) of Orlando, FL; and brother, Gregory J. Gross, Jr. of Orlando, FL; nieces and nephews: Juliana and Gregory Gross, III, Alora V. and Joseph Campbell, III. Additionally, she will be missed by her beloved aunts: Joan P. Brooks (Wayne) of Front Royal, VA and Mildred J. Washington of Tucson, AZ; her uncle, James J. Washington, Jr.; her cousins: Annette McCullough (Keith), Wilma J. Brooks, Millicent Baez (Scott) and a host of relatives.

Her private viewing will be held at Joynes Funeral Home, in Warrenton, VA. Reverend Wilma Brooks and Rev. Johnny Clements closing “Words of Expression”.  A private family memorial and interment will follow.
