Sharon Marie (Thompson) Combs

Sharon Marie Thompson, 62, of Chantilly, VA, was born to Rose (Bland) Thompson and the late James H. Thompson on March 17, 1961, in Albany, New York.

On her life journey, Sharon was a beautiful daughter, sister, wife, auntie, great auntie, and friend. Sharon graduated from Colonie Central High School. She joined the US Army where she served her country faithfully for seven years. She traveled the world while in the military, visiting South Carolina, Germany, France, and Arizona, before settling in Virginia, where she was honorably discharged. Her professional career flourished in Contracts, where she earned several professional certifications. Sharon retired on her birthday, Marth 17, 2023, as a Senior Contracts Manager at Raytheon.

Sharon met and married Paul M. Combs, Jr., in 2008. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Viola (Sis) Bland; sister, Sonya; and her father, James (Jimmy). Sharon was called home on May 29, 2023. She left this world with her loving family at her side.

Left to cherish her memories are: her husband, Paul Michael Combs, Jr; mother, Rose Bland; in-laws, Paul and Virginia Combs; godmother, Betty Salmond Young; god sisters, Denise Young and Pamela and Deborah Tate; adopted sisters, Patricia Crenshaw, Adoria Crenshaw, and Tobias Z. Crenshaw; nieces; Tiffany Lherisson, Ashley Lherisson, and Rebeca Lherisson; nephews, Kwame Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Owen Freidline, Ethan Freidline, and in memory, Ashton Freidline; brothers, Alven (Martin) Thompson and Edward Thompson; uncles, Willie (Pop) Bland (Jocelyn), Frank Migliaccio, and Bill Kendall; aunts, Patricia Bland, Maxcine Sharpe, Theresa Bland, and the late Arsola (Doll) Crenshaw, Debbie Migliaccio, and Rosemary Kendall; in-laws, Vicki and Wade Freidline; and her great-nieces and great-nephew, Kia Martina Thompson, Chloe and Cullen Lherisson-Higginbotham.

Interment will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave., Albany NY, 12209.
