Ronnie Neal Goodman, Jr., of Manassas, Virginia, was born on October 11, 1976, in Washington, D.C. to Matina Elaine Willingham (deceased) and Ronnie Neal Goodman, Sr. God called Ronnie home on July 31, 2024 in Manassas, Virginia surrounded by his loving family.
At a young age, Ronnie would accompany his beloved grandmother Jackulyn "Jackie" Rhone and her gospel singing group "Voices of Love" all around the region to different churches and concerts. It was at that time when Ronnie had a personal experience with the Lord, accepted Christ and was baptized.
Ronnie, affectionately known by many as "Sqwerrll", grew up in Washington D.C., Alexandria, Virginia and Arlington, Virginia. His love for his family was immense and there wasn't a friend that didn't turn into family. He attended Wakefield High School where he played football with individuals, he remained friends with up to his passing.
During his senior year of High School, Ronnie met his forever love Anneka (Smith) Goodman. The two wed in Holy matrimony on October 27, 2007. From this union, they were blessed with three children; Darian Armani Neal Goodman (deceased), Donovan Neal Goodman and Alanah Elaine Goodman. In 2020, they adopted their "fur-baby" Kobe Bean Goodman who is named after Ronnie's favorite basketball player Kobe Bryant.
Ronnie excelled at any job where he was employed. He was employed by Giant Food Stores for many years and then at Washington Golf and Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. Ronnie enjoyed working at the golf course where he created lifelong friendships. At his passing, Ronnie was employed at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Manassas, Virginia. He excelled there during the 14 years of his employment; starting on the loading dock he worked his way up to Program Management & Planning Operations Rep. Senior holding a Government Security Clearance.
His memory will be cherished by, Anneka Goodman; his children; Alanah Goodman, Donovan Goodman and Kobe; father, Ronnie N. Goodman, Sr., two brothers; Ricky Willingham and Darnell Willingham; half sister, Rhonda Jones; nieces and nephews who he adored; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. His bond with his cousins was so close, they were more like brothers; Antonie, Bill, John, James, Chris, Jerome, and Anthony to name a few. Ronnie was deeply loved and will certainly be missed by too many to list by name.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, 3 PM, at Faith Christian Church, 6472 Duhollow Road, Warrenton, VA 20187. Dr. Decker H. Tapscott, Sr. will deliver the eulogy.
