Lucille Ann Watkins passed away peacefully March 2024, surrounded by her family, after a long illness. She was much loved and will be missed terribly.
She was born May 1954, in Bedford, VA, to Lucy W. and raised by Dorothy and Curtis H. in Arlington, VA. She graduated from Yorktown High School in Arlington, and went on to graduate from The Washington School for Secretaries. Lucille retired from The United Mine Workers of America after 43 years of service.
Lucille baptized Pentecostal, later converted to Catholicism, joining St. Charles Catholic Church in Arlington. She was an extremely private person, who loved cooking and playing several mind challenging games.
Lucille is survived by her son, Aaron; and daughter, Vanessa (husband, Brad and son, Jaeden). Also surviving are her sister, Mary Sue; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, guardians, and her brothers: Gary and Don.
Visitation will be at Saturday, April 6, 2024, 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 41685 Corpus Christi Dr, Aldie, VA 20105, followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Lucille will be laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park, 8420 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003.
