Lillie Mary Tates

Lillie Mary Tates, 72, of Sterling, VA, passed January 8, 2020, at her residence.  She was born on May 20, 1947.   

Lillie is survived by a daughter, Shawna R. (Robert) Tates-Shorts of Sterling, VA; one son: Edward H. Tates of Sterling, VA; nine brothers: Don Tates, John Tates Alfred (Eva) Tates, William Tates, Kennedy Tates, Arvene (Floretta) Tates all of Sterling, VA, Addison (Diane) Tates of Catlett, VA, Ervin (Barbara) Tates of Bluemont, VA; three sisters: Curvia (Irvin) Robinson of Aldie, VA, Inez Tates of Winchester, VA, Annette Jackson of Arlington, VA; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Tates Lyles; and three brothers: Elvis and Howard Tates, Jr. and Charles Davenport.
   
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 10 am until 11 am with funeral services starting at 11 am at First Mount Olive Baptist Church, 216 Loudoun Street, S.W., Leesburg, VA, 20175.  Rev. Tony Smith will deliver the eulogy.
 
Interment will be in Mt. Morris Community Cemetery, Hume, VA.
