Kevin Lee Moore, 62, of Warrenton, Virginia, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on February 23, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of twenty-four years, Gail J. Moore; his mother, Mary Washington; and his stepmother, Elizabeth Moore.
Kevin was a devoted husband, a dedicated worker, and a man of faith. He was a minister with the heart of an evangelist; never hesitating to share the gospel with a stranger – whether at work, on the street, or simply in passing - his boldness, was remarkable. He is best remembered for his love for God, family, and people. If there was a need he could meet, without question, he would meet it. He was loyal, humble, and generous, never short on words of encouragement. He loved travel, a good barbecue, fishing and being ‘out on the water’, and music. He was self-taught musician – having played the bass guitar and piano – from his early days in “the band” on to the worship team at church.
Kevin grew up in Midland, Virginia. At 18 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he remained for six years, working as a Defense Acquisition Radar Operator, Transportation, and Ammo Sergeant until he was honorably discharged in 1986. In 1999, he married the love of his life, Gail, to whom he remained faithfully devoted until her passing in 2019. Kevin’s love for technology and IT earned him a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Sciences and his subsequent career in Network Security, Fiber Optics, and Specialty Systems Installation for which after the death of his wife, he traveled throughout the United States working until returning home to his rest in 2022.
He leaves behind his stepson, Tony Pollok (Rebecca), his step-grandchildren, Wyatt, and Justin Pollok, and his cherished dog, Lilly. He is the son of Pastor John Moore, and one of nine siblings: Joseph Washington (Connie), Norma Jean Washington, Tina Moore, John Peyton (Angila), Rebecca Bland (James), Samuel Moore, Mark Moore, Eugene Moore, and Stephanie Moore.
