Joann Harriet (Rector) Smith

Joann Harriet Smith, 68, of Marshall, VA, passed December 22, 2025.   She was born on April 2, 1957.   

Joann is survived by her husband, Pastor Rodney L. Smith, Sr. of Marshall, VA; one daughter, LaVerne (Tommy) Smith-Sanford of Warrenton, VA; two brothers, Levering Rector, II of Midland, VA, James (Agnes) Rector of Locust Grove, VA; and one sister, Jacquline Carter of Marshall, VA. She was preceded in death by a son, Rodney L. Smith, Jr., and one brother, Clifton Rector.
  
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 11 am until 12 pm with funeral services starting at 12 pm at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 4679 Free State Road, Marshall, VA, 20115.  Pastor Rodney L. Smith Sr. will deliver the eulogy.
  
Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshall, VA.
