James Monroe Sims

James Monroe Sims, 75, of Purcellville, VA, passed June 28, 2026, at his residence.   He was the son of the late Deacon Philip Sims and Susie Sims.

James is survived by his wife, Doris P.R. Sims of Purcellville, VA; three sons: Robert (Stephanie) Hill of Sterling, VA, Christopher (Natasha) Hill of Warrenton, VA, Adam  (Shawna) Sims of Warrenton, VA; one daughter, Patricia L.R. (Alfred) Quintana of Texas City, TX; two brothers: Walter (Katie) Sims of Front Royal, VA, and Earnest Sims of Broad Run, VA; a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
  
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10 am until 11 am with funeral services starting at 11 am at at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 35285 Snake Hill Road, Middleburg, VA, 20117. 
  
Interment will be in Mt. Zion Memorial Park, Middleburg, VA.
