James Hughes Burgess

James Hughes Burgess, 86, of Lanham, Maryland, formerly of Warrenton, VA, passed May 25, 2023.   He was born on September 4, 1936.     

James is survived by a son, James A. (Demetria) Burgess of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Virginia Burgess Williams of Washington, DC; a brother, Calvin Burgess of Greenbelt, MD; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
 
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 10 am until 11 am with funeral services starting at 11 am at Faith Christian Church, 6472 Duhollow Road, Warrenton, VA, 20187.  Dr. Decker H. Tapscott, Sr. will officiate and Pastor Warren H. Preston, Jr. will deliver the eulogy.
 
Interment will be in Warrenton Cemetery, Warrenton, VA.
