Gudrun Gerlinda Slaughter, 73, of Burke, VA, passed on September 10, 2025, with her beloved husband by her side.
Born on August 13, 1952, in Bremerhaven, Germany, Gudrun was the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Bahr) Monsees. After completing high school, she came to the United States, where she married her beloved husband, Harrison Slaughter, and later built a successful career in corporate accounting. Together they raised three children and built a life rooted in love and faith.
Gudrun loved going on walks and riding her bike. Above all, she loved her family deeply but held an even greater love for the Lord. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother-for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the lessons she passed down about loving one another unconditionally and giving selflessly.
Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Harrison; her children, Stephan Slaughter (wife Juana), Scott Slaughter, and Michael Slaughter (wife Gymama); and her cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Jessica, Brian, David, Jericha, Hailey, and Scotty Slaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Monsees.
