Franklin Theodore Austin

Franklin Theodore Austin of Fairfax, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2022, following a brief illness. Frank, the only child of Lorraine Austin Beatty, was born January 20, 1940 in Washington, D.C. He attended D.C. public schools graduating from McKinley Technology High School in 1959. Frank then matriculated at both the Washington Teachers College, now, University of the District of Columbia, and Howard University.

Frank’s career spanned over 40 years, beginning with the Federal Government and ending in private industry in 2007.  He left the workforce to pursue other interests including history, aircraft, realty, automobiles, photography, physical fitness, later also discovering his passion for art.

Frank was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Fairfax Station, Virginia for many years.  He was a devoted family man, husband, father and grandfather.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Lori, of nearly 33 years, as well as his beloved children, Miriam Gregory (Percell), Millicent Dent, and Marcus Austin; six grandchildren, along with a host of family, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 10:30 am until 11am followed by a memorial service that will begin at 11 am at Antioch Baptist Church, 6531 Little Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA 22039.  The service will also be accessible via live stream at: http://www.antioch-church.org
