Dorothy Mae Smith, 92, of Marshall, VA, passed January 11, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1932.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her precious memories to two sons: Harold Eugene Tines (Lisa) of Warrenton, VA and David Leon Tines of Oakton, VA; one stepdaughter: Marva Johnson of Stafford; VA; two stepsons: Maurice Hampton of Lorton and Deanie Smith of Stafford, VA; 14 grandchildren: Tish Cushenberry (Joe), Victoria Woods, ReKeisha Smallwood (Stephon), Rachelle Mae Green, Brianna Shellington, Nicky Caison, Ashleigh Scott (Dondrea), Kelli Reid, Marcus Tines, Kiera Newton (Robert), Anisha Mae Tines, William Tines, Jr., George Richardson, and Anasia Richardson; 37 great-grandchildren: Daniel, Charlie, Tynetta, Robert, Fawnta, Atia, Ayanna, Quinten, Desmond, Chris, Kimora, Da’Shawn, Marcus, Jazmyne, Xavier, Xaelynn, McKinley, Zion, Brooklynn, Serenity, Kortez, Trenton, Anaya, Aria, Amina, Amari, Aezra, Amani, Teon, Terron, A’keyra, Z’aki, Domani, Domere, Da’kari, Avanni, and Giovanni; six great-great-grandchildren: Miracle, Patience, Travon, Eden, Namar, and Naomi; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bolden Smith; a son, Charles Milton “Mick” Tines; her daughter, Arlene Mae Tines; her brothers: Clarence Bushrod and Irving Bushrod; her sisters: Thelma Christian, Louise Christian, Inez Ford, Naomi “Bobbi” Hill, and Bernice Smith.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with funeral services starting at 11 am at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 4679 Free State Road, Marshall, VA, 20115. Pastor Rodney L. Smith, Sr. will deliver the eulogy.
Interment will be in Mt. Morris Community Cemetery, Hume, VA.
