David Fowler, III Obituary

David Madison Fowler III, of Woodbridge, VA, the beloved son of Sharia Marshall and David Madison Fowler, Jr., and honorary father Paxton “Payco” Carter was born on Tuesday, October 29, 2002, Fairfax, VA. On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, David transitioned to eternal peace.

David was raised and educated in Fairfax and Prince William County Public School systems, graduating from Prince William County Public Schools. He loved boxing and football. David boxed at Charles Houston Recreation Center, Alexandria, VA, and played football with American Pride Youth Football League (APYFL), Prince William County, VA.
David was an easy-going person who always smiled. His smile was charismatic, fearless, and very special to many people. David liked to tell jokes, and the jokes he told would make your belly ache. David’s smile and sense of humor warmed hearts and bought joy to others.

David demonstrated characteristics of being courageous, adventurous, resilient, and protective. His skills of climbing walls, doorways, roofs, trees, and anything else that could be climbed, and teaching those skills to his younger cousins landed him the nickname “Spider Man”. David enjoyed exploring the extraordinary things in life that gave him pleasure and fostered his adventurous spirit.

Music was his passion. David’s favorite song was the gospel song “Take Me to the King” that he began to sing in early childhood. David composed rap music lyrics that expressed his resiliency, true self, and words of wisdom for others. David loved his family and friends. He was known as the protector, as he held and will continue to hold a special place in the hearts of others who love him dearly - a love that will live forever.

He leaves to cherish his smile and memories, his mother, Sharia Marshall; his father, David Madison Fowler, Jr.; his honorary father, Paxton “Payco” Carter; his sister, N’lyjah “Nay-Nay” Fowler; his great-grandmother, Sharon Mason (Jessie); his grandmother, Leslie Marshall-Carter (Robert); great-great uncles: Nelson Marshall, E. Keenan Moore (Helen), and James Porter; great-great aunts: Pearl Lambert and Charmane Grant; great uncles: David Marshall (Stephanie), Durmia Marshall, and Gilbert “Bonny” Colmes; great aunts: Alisha and Tracy Colmes, Jennifer Carter, Pamela Jones, and Tammy Hargrove; his uncle, Marvin Mudd; aunts: Keisha Marshall and Cierra Marie Mudd; and a host of cousins, friends, and other loved ones.
