Charles Everett Lewis, Jr., "Big Boh" to his grandchildren, "Boh Hammer" to the family and friends closest to him was born on January 27, 1955, and passed away on May 24, 2026, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 71 years old and called Midland, Virginia his home.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Ruth V. (Tyler) Lewis and Lauretha (Washington) Garnett. His children: Charles "Jingles" E. Lewis, III (Morgan), Jackie A. Lewis, Tanya E. Lewis, Antwane "Shawn" S. Lewis (Kelly), and LaTish N. Washington. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Martha E. Tyler, Blanche McLeod, Shirley Yates, and Loretta E. Lewis; and his brother, Cleveland Lewis. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Charles E. Lewis, Sr., and his brother Claude Lewis.
Big Boh. Boh Hammer. Whatever name you knew him by, he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Joynes Funeral Home, 29 N. Third St., Warrenton, VA, 20186 and again on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 10am until 11am with funeral services starting at 11am at Redeemed Church of Christ, 9552 James Madison Highway, Warrenton, VA, 20186. Pastor Glen E. Jenkins will deliver the eulogy.
