Alford Dennis Carter, III

Alford Dennis Carter, III, 75, of Front Royal, VA, passed April 28, 2026, at his residence.   He was born on September 1, 1950. 

Alford "A.D." Carter III, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away leaving a legacy of service, strength, and lasting impact on all who knew him. A proud United States Navy veteran, he remained deeply committed to supporting fellow veterans throughout his life. He lived a life rooted in service to his family and community and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 55 years, Alice Carter; his sister, Shirley Chestnut; his children, Angela Murphy, Andréa Ross, Alford “A.D.” Carter IV (Kimberly Carter}, and Daijuan Wade-Jones (Christopher Jones),and his grandchildren, Genae Murphy, Derrick Murphy, Imani Ross, Andrew Ross, Alford Carter V, Wallace Carter, Dennis Gibbs, and Tynesha Frazier.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 16th at Abundant Life Church, 700 Aylor Road, Stephens City, VA 22655, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., funeral service at 11:00 a.m., and a repass immediately following.

His legacy of love, faith, and service will endure.

Interment will be Monday, May 18, 2026, 12:30 PM, at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, Triangle, VA.
